The office
Use of the computer, conservation of documents for archive, necessity to have a place tranquilizes where to welcome Ghanaian or foreign visitors, where to be able to isolate himself to be in charge of the administration of the workshop, led Eric to decide at the end of 2009 to build an office. About 20 square metres of the workshop are devoted to this plan. Toilets and a shower are envisaged there. In January, 2010, walls exist. The rest is a matter of money, the complete budget is less than 1000 euro…

Residences
Michael Deforest, a lecturer at the Oregon College of Arts and Crafts (Portland, OR, USA), works also the wood with which he creates objects put together in a original way. It is on the Net that it discovered Ga coffins and more particularly those of the Kane Kwei workshop which, in their mode of building, introduce certain similarities with his own creations. He directly made contact with Eric by email. After one year of exchanges, Michael came to Accra, to Teshie where he spent two months as learner of the workshop. Accommodated in the home of Cedi, benefiting from attention of Eric, Michael dived in a culture and the fascinating world that he was for a foreigner. He lived the life of a learner and crossed tests successfully « of introduction ». Unique and beneficial experience for each of the participants which we plan to renew and to develop.

Furnitures
Diversify the production of the workshop in producing something else than coffins, while still using style and techniques used for these. Such is the intention which pushes Eric to launch into the building of personalized pieces of furniture. The French Alliance of Kumasi supports this initiative by organizing a residence in May, 2010 during which Eric, one of its most experienced apprentices and the artist will construct a book shalve in the form of Eiffel Tower. The apprentices of a local joinery will participate in the plan sponsored by a big sawmill of Kumasi.

Mini-coffins
No, these are not coffins for small animals! These boxes remind the productions of the workshop and have is worth it being easily transportable and useful.
